Sanity Saver - If in doubt about this gym, all i can say is that my little boy loves it, its been a godsend for us!Its great for a young baby as the lights and the music keep them amused (while you run around and get some stuff done) and once they are a bit older they can still play with the toys happily. My little boy is 4 months old now, and he still loves it, and grabs the toys, which are wonderfully designed, the elephant being a particular favourite. The variety in the toys is pretty good, with noisy ones as well as interesting textures to touch. The really nice thing is that there are lots of positions to put the toys on, from high to low and so you can switch them around to avoid the baby getting bored and give them a challenge. Its also great for getting your baby to kick and wriggle and really explore his surroundings.I was very surprised in that it doesn t eat batteries, we ve used rechargeables in there quite happily and they last ages.I personally don t think the mat is that thin, its not the thickest but it does wash easily, which is very important! My little boy is very happy to lie on the mat (we have a rug underneath anyway most of the time), so much so that he used to regularly fall asleep whilst lying on it.Its a wonderful product and I would recommend it to anyone.

There are 3 sound options :) - As a response to the previous opinion - there are 3 positions of the melody switch - one is for music and rainforest sounds played alternatively, second for rainforest sounds only and third is marked with a little picture of a rattle and it means that the melody is activated by baby movement. It s all written in your manual ,)

From day one to six months old - I was given this as a maternity present from work and I don t know what I would have done without it. My son has used it from week one, where he would lie and gaze up at the toys, and even now that he is six months, he plays and chews on the rattle-toys every day.Amazingly, despite playing the music at least twice every single day, I am not tearing my hair out. The only negatives are that the mat itself is quite thin so you need to put it on a carpet or rug (I suppose this is so it can be put in the washing machine). Also, on mine, there s only two sound options (music and jungle sounds), despite having three switch points - as if there s one sound option missing.Anyhow, I would urge you to buy this! It is worth every penny and all my friends wish they had purchased this over others.
